My Supports

My colleagues are my number one support. I have said to many of my friends in my hometown that I felt I am kind of dumb and deaf while lived in the country where people speak the language different from us. I get my daily job done all owing to my colleagues. I remember my supervisor had told my co-workers "you need to write things to Sara if she did not respond to you; she might misunderstand you; she might not catch you; at least you need to pat her shoulder to let her know you are talking to her." My co-worker had suffered so much to communicate with me. They support me in many ways. They have to slow their tongue and let me understand their words. Sometimes they have to write down for me. I can tell from their faces that most time they were guessing what I am saying. Just like most time I was guessing what they are saying. From their encouragement, I can speak much better and more confidently. I know my English is still so poor that I am still not comfortable to pick up phone and answer phone calls in English. I still cannot speak at other environment other than my work place. I felt more comfort to speak with my colleagues.

All children and their families are my support. They know my English is not good. Sometimes, a child would say to another child: "Sara does not speak English". Most time they correct my pronunciation. Their families are even cool, whenever they talk to me; they slow down just as they speak to their children. They are all my English helper. Without them, I can not image how my English improved so much, And how can I get my job done.

My fellowships are my strong support. They support me the way just as family support their member. I called them when I had a car accident on my way home. One couple stayed the whole night with me at my home to help me arrange all things related. They will pray with me whenever I felt need help.

My daughter helps me whenever I need her. She would put down her things to attend me whenever I called her. By her encourage, I am still in this program.

My GOD and my LORD is my strongest support. I pray to Him every day and with His support, all things I needed are in my hand. I never felt short any thing.
