 The 3 National/Federal Organizations I chose to share are the Children's Bureau (CB), the U.S. Department of Education (ED), and the Administration for Children & Families (ACF). I chose these 3 national organizations because they relate my CoP the most in the level of National/Fedeal.

The Children's Bureau

The Children's Bureau (CB) is a Federal agency for children within the U.S. Government created by President Taft in 1912. Currently, the Children’s Bureau is headed by Associate Commissioner JooYeun Chang who advises the Administration on Children, Youth and Families’ Commissioner on matters related to child welfare. The CB focuses on improving the lives of children and families through programs that reduce child abuse and neglect, increase the number of adoptions, and strengthen foster care. The CB partners with federal, state, tribal and local agencies to improve the overall health and well-being of our nation’s children and families.

There is no link for Job searching within CB. My understanding is the agency does not have the job opportunity for public accessing.

U.S. Department of Education (ED)

ED was created in 1980 by combining offices from several federal agencies. ED's responsibilities include establishing policies on federal financial aid for education, and distributing as well as monitoring those funds; collecting data on America's schools and disseminating research; focusing national attention on key educational issues; prohibiting discrimination and ensuring equal access to education.

ED’s mission is to promote student achievement and preparation for global competitiveness by fostering educational excellence and ensuring equal access.

To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal government.
 KSAs:

Knowledge of, and experience in, the application of analytical, statistical and evaluative methods and techniques in order to assure the efficiency/effectiveness of policies and programs in postsecondary education.

Skill in analytical and interpreting administrative and research datasets, which may include EdFacts, IPEDS, NCES data collections, CRDC data, GPRA data, statewide longitudinal data systems, etc.

Knowledge of policy and research in the following areas, e.g., Title IV of the Higher Education Opportunity Act, Federal Student Aid programs, such as Federal Pell Grants, Federal Direct Loans, Federal Family Education Loans, the Campus-based Loan, Grant and Work- study programs, and college- and career ready standards/assessments.

Skills in observing and evaluating implementation and effectiveness of programs and adherence of programs to Department rules and regulations and reporting findings effectively to intra-and inter- Department, technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience in presenting findings from site visits, integrating these findings with supplemental qualitative and/or quantitative analyses, and generating and reviewing reports of these findings

Experience in, or knowledge of, federal procurement process and Department review process.

Skills and experience in reporting, interpreting, and presenting education-related data and analytic findings to technical and non-technical, internal and outside audiences.

Reviewing extant research, developing new or improved research approaches, and presenting these ideas about nationally important research programs to persons with conflicting views and differing needs.

The Administration for Children & Families(ACF)

The Administration for Children & Families (ACF) is a division of the Department of Health & Human Services.  ACF promotes the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals and communities. Its responsibilities are to empower families and individuals to increase their economic independence and productivity; to encourage strong, healthy, supportive communities that have a positive impact on quality of life and the development of children; to create partnerships with front-line service providers, states, localities and tribal communities to identify and implement solutions that transcend traditional program boundaries; to improve access to services through planning, reform and integration; to address the needs, strengths and abilities of vulnerable populations including people with developmental disabilities, refugees and migrants.

GS-12: At least one year specialized experience, equivalent in difficulty and complexity to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service that included: monitoring teen pregnancy prevention or youth development programs to ensure compliance with policy standards and objective work plans and recommending solutions to fix areas of non-compliance; developing and conducting analytical studies to evaluate the technical performance and financials of grantees and providing solutions to issues; and developing data-collection tools to evaluate the implementation of evidence-based programs relating to teen pregnancy prevention or youth development programs.
